Three ways to get reels out of a sermon
Editing it yourself, a general clip tool, or Sermon Short Reels. Each suits a different church. This page compares them without naming products or quoting numbers.

| Question | Sermon Short Reels | Editing it yourself | A general clip tool |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where you start | The YouTube link or the file you already have | The full recording, opened in a video editor | An upload into a tool built for any kind of video |
| Who picks the moments | The transcript and the audio, read together for how a sermon is built | You, by watching the sermon back | A general model, not tuned to sermons |
| Worship and music | Classified first and left out of the sermon range | You skip past it by hand | Depends on the tool |
| Framing | Follows the speaker, cuts on phrase boundaries | You set the crop and the cuts yourself | Usually automatic, quality varies |
| Captions | Word timed, with the church name and the scripture when it was spoken | You type or import them and fix the timing | Usually word timed, with generic styling |
| Your time each week | About ten minutes to review five reels | The longest of the three: every cut is yours | Review plus any clean-up the tool leaves |
| The final say | You approve every reel. Nothing posts without you | Yours | Yours |
| How it is priced | In sermons, from a free first sermon | Your time, or an editor's fee | Varies by tool |
When another option fits better
Edit it yourself for the big moments
A series launch, a baptism Sunday or a piece with custom graphics deserves a person with an editor. Many teams use this for the weekly five and keep their own work for those.
Use a general tool for everything else
If most of your video is not preaching, such as podcasts, interviews or events, a general tool built for any kind of video may suit you better.
What we deliberately do not do
No timeline editor, no manual trimming, no custom font upload and no dubbing. Keeping the product narrow is what keeps it simple enough to review in minutes.
